By the way I did even without using Power Video Karaoke!
The best, the easiest and the most efficient way is to use screen capture software

I all depends on how much control over the look of the video you need. With Power Video Karaoke you can adjust synchronization, add images and change fonts -- you will not achieve this with screen capture.

In Power Video Karaoke there is a MIDI Karaoke Import Wizard that does most of the job -- all you have to do is to change settings of the video file.

Does anyone know any software, preferably free or not too dear, that I can use to burn karaoke CDs from .kar files.

The only way is to create BIN file with PowerKaraoke, and then burn it with Power CD+G Burner. But it would cost you $119 in total.
