Video Editing Software

Using PVK, I've been compiling video karaoke with moving backgrounds by exporting standard AVI files and keying out the background, which is fairly time consuming. From other posts in the forum, it is apparent that the best way to do this is by exporting PNG files with an already transparent background and overlaying these over my backgrounds. The only problem is that my current video editing software will not allow me to import PNG onto the timeline. Can anybody recommend a piece of software for PC that will allow me to do this?

Have you tried creating AVI with solid background (blue or magenta) and then using blue box in video editing software? What video editor are you using?
