I was finally able to test this out. The track I chose I had to fix 3/5 of them for being spelled differently. I made them all the same except for 1 (with lowercase letters on purpose). While the remote queue did only show this as one song (with capitalized text)... When I click to go to the add singer screen to choose which version I want, the version that isn't formatted the same is excluded from the results.

Left side is add singer screen directly from the remote queue, right side is song database screen for comparison.

All artist and title name will be combined in remote client regardless of the letter case.

The other thing is for trimming spaces from names permanently.

If I understand, the merge setting only looks for same exact files that are in different folders?

Cause the fix we're asking for is to have the remote queue see all versions of the same artist+title be looked at the same regardless of case.

This build should merge songs regardless of the case:

https://www.powerkaraoke.com/download/2 ... -setup.exe

And there is an option in Songs database / Tools / Validate songs to remove spaces from front and end of the names.

I thought we fixed this long ago... Sorry for that, I will test the issue first thing on Monday.

I've asked for this awhile back because I think it is a silly parameter for remote queue to look at to think it's a different song and it is difficult to alter every system I have for capitalization issues since I would have to remember to manually change them for each database. Hopefully the new remote queue they're working on fixes this issue as well.

Database Case Sensative

is there a way to make the database not case sensitive?
for example...
Dean Martin - Walk on By
shows as a different song than
Dean Martin - Walk On By

strictly because the "O" in the word "on" is lowercase, but it does not collapse in this instance and shows as a different song entirely.
the other question would be can the database be programmed to ignore leading or trailing blank spaces?
using the same example
Dean Martin - Walk On By
and
Dean Martin - Walk On By
they will show as 2 different songs because of the leading space.
it will not show as an error when importing, but will be imported as a unique song.

after posting i see that the leading space is automatically removed when posting on this forum, i hope it still makes sense
